Just a spoonful of...honey?

So, Jacob had ear tubes put in and his adenoids removed at the end of March. Things were gong very well after that, actually. He stopped yelling all the time (he couldn't here) and that was glorious. He was a champ and bounced right back. He still needed to take all his allergy meds unfortunately, but all in all, we were happy with the decision to have him go through with the surgery.

A couple of days ago, he started coughing. This is normal. He has horrible allergies. No biggie. I started to have to give him benadyrl at night because he had the post nasal drip thing going on. Then last night, on the way home from Riverfest, he YELPED in the back seat. He cupped his ear and told me his left ear really hurt. Well, after some more benadryl (still coughing) and some Advil, I sent him to bed. Then I called Mom Atencio (she's a nurse). She thought the same thing I did...something is wrong with the ear tubes. I checked on him once again. He had a fever. Ugh.

So, I took the poor little dude into the doctors office today to check on his ear tubes.

Good grief.

His ear tubes are fine. My poor baby has fungus growing in his ears. Geez!!! She said there was fungus growing in both ears, he's wheezing, and has a low grade fever. POOR KID! The doc thinks that it has everything to do with allergies. So, he's on an inhaler, a steroid, ear drops (4x a day!!), and a Z-pack. He missed AWANA tonight and TKD earlier. He was so bummed. Hopefully he will start feeling better soon.

Ha! We were listening to the radio on the way back from the doctors and the DJ mentioned eating a teaspoon of local honey (not store bought from somewhere else) helps allergies. It has all the local pollen in it and it makes you immune. Heck. I am willing to give it a shot!

Darn. I get to eat honey eveyday. Darn.
