Bean Dip

Mental note: Silly putty is cool. Silly putty is NOT cool when a 3 year old forgets where she left it. Silly putty looks like dried bean dip when it gets stuck in between the cushions of the couch. Silly putty is harder to get off the couch than bean dip. Silly putty covered in couch fuzz looks fantastic in the trash.

I seriously thought it was bean dip. I had my birthday party with my dancing friends last night. Yes, bean dip was served. Jacob found it tonight; it has been there FOR WEEKS!! Rianna was distraught because she couldn't find it anywhere. We looked all over the place.

Obviously we did not look everywhere.

The Amazing Spider....er...Family

So last night, we watched Spider Man I with Jacob; it was his first time seeing it. He struggled with nightmares for a long time so we were hesitant to let him see it until now. The Green Goblin is downright spooky, but he seemed to do great with it.

Today Jacob sat down and started working hard on something. He spent quite a long time in front of a piece of paper with a sharp pencil and a ruler. When he was finally done he ran over to me and explained what he had been working on. It went something like this...

"Mom, this is my latest invention. It is a machine that kills spiders, takes out their web makers, and gets the stuff off the ends of their legs that helps them stick to walls. I will keep killing and collecting that stuff until there is enough of it for our family. Then the four of us can be like SPIDER MAN! I still can't figure out how to get a 'Spidey Sense' for all of us though."

Rianna: "Mommy, Brother and I are hiding. Don't see us, okay?"

The kids wanted a snack before bedtime, so I gave them some pretzels. I walked away for a bit and came back to this.

My son is so dang awesome.

Nothing to do.....

Me: "What do you want to do Jacob? Read a book?"

Jacob: (going to the project cabinet and standing in front of it) "I am going to make a laser. (long pause) Do you know how to make a laser, Mom?"
